Ancient writers took their work very seriously and would strive to include every detail without frivolous printing. The scripts of the earliest peoples, like the Sumerians and the Indus Valley people,have been decoded in many differing ways. They often do include the similar theme of gods coming down from the sky and creating us and all of the new lifeforms we share the earth with. When a scribe or writer would witness a strange happening involving these gods, they would inevitably describe the appearance of them. The common thread in most all of our descriptions of gods or deities is that they are human based in form and function. Our Gods have always been associated with the human form, in whatever realistic or mutated form it might be in.
When reading the ancient Indian texts, one reads of fantastic flying macines that existed on earth at one point called Vimanas. They were the transportation for the high ranking members of society and the gods as well. Many of these vimanas have been included in Indian history to the point where they teach it in school as fact.These Vimanas were said to be piloted by human figures, not monsters or aliens.
The prophet Ezekiel, upon seeing what he described as a living creature, noticed that it was ridden by a human figure that seemed to control it. The truth is he probably saw some sort of vehicle and it's driver or pilot within, and misconstrued it as a living creature.
After all, how would a person from Ezekiel's time even know how to describe a type of flying vehicle, when the terms to describe it arent even a part of their language? The only part he got right was the advanced humanoid piloting the craft.
In a way, most all of our writings and past recording of our history since we were able to do so, have included the form of man as a basis for our gods. The earliest cave art and rock paintings that show ancient man with animals, some that do not not exist today, are also examples that man knew how to draw what he saw. A typical rock artist or cave painter would probably be called upon by different clans, and asked to depict for them on their particular cave wall what they would choose to have as artwork. Not only would they be able to record important events of the time, they also would become the first art collectors in our history.
We know the dinosaurs were in a period in time that apparently there have been no bones found to indicate that humans or humanoids existed at the same time. The dinos existed for nearly 150 million years before their extinction event. This would indicate that when a lifeform becomes the dominant type on earth, it can be around for a long time until something uncontrollable wipes it out. Was early man around before the dinosaurs? More than once?
In the millions of years since dinosaurs existed, there has been a fairly incomplete fossil record for mans's timeline. Even without filling in the blanks we can show that man has been around in our present form for about 230,000 years.This time it has taken this long to become the semi-advanced race we are today, and in another fifty years our tech will be mindblowing to those of our time.
It is absurd to think, that with the dna and genetic material that is existing in our world now, that the possibility of past civilizations should be denied. The human dna can mutate and change under many kinds of unusual circumstances, with the infinite number of outcomes being impossible to predict each time. Whether we are the same lifeform that has evolved before and been destroyed is also a puzzling question. How can anyone know what wonderous or hideous form our previous genetics created. Were we able to breath oxygen, or was there a different atmosphere for a time, it's all speculation.
What is probably one of the best indicators we can use for the past civilization theory are called ooparts. Ooparts are out of place artifacts. They are things that are found outside of the normal timeframe they would have existed in for the level of technology they are at. The best examples are actual metal or manufactured devices and items that are clearly far too advanced for the layer of strata or earth they are found in.
When excavating in France, 18th century workers found tools used to quarry stone nearly indentical to the ones they used, imbedded in a rock formation dating to 300 million years ago.
In South Africa, miners have been finding spheres of Nickel alloy that is not naturally occuring. They are filled with an unknown spongy material that dissolves when cracked open. These spheres are imbedded in 450 million year old sedimentary layers of pyrophyllite. How did they get there?
The Saqqara Bird, dating to 200 BC, is a near perfect representation of a modern airplane. Found in Saqqara, Egypt, it has been built, tested, and flown in model form by aeronautical engineers, and performs like a modern airplane.
These are jewelry pieces found in Inca ruins dating back to 1000 years ago. They seem to depict jet fighters from the 20th century, with an artisitic flair. Why would Inca people, who most likely did not have fighter jets, make jewelry that looked just like them? Had they seen them flying over, or had the designs been passed down from ancient times, when they may have?
It seems that there is an unending treasure trove of ooparts for those who search for them, and they are clearly one of the best indicators for PCT.(Past Civilization Theory)
Now we move on to Lemuria and Atlantis which are often spoken of in a more mystical way than in a real or scientific manner. Some believe that the lands of both seemingly advanced societies had been inundated by a catastrophic event in our distant past and the amount of knowledge leftover was zero or close to it.
Modern satellite techniques have revealed that there are several anomalies in the oceans that could be construed as sunken islands or underwater cities. Their existence is more or less a fact, but no one knows if they ever harbored civilization or not.
Yonaguni on the Japan coast is a good example of a city that once existed, but is now under 65 feet of water. It is probably one of the cities that was on the edge of the super continent called Lemuria that was said to exist in ancient past. It consisted of a large island where the Pacific ocean is now, and was said to host many advanced societies. All of them described to be human.
When looking around the edge of the pacific we find other sunken cities at about the same depth, or deeper, than Yonaguni. This is another good indicator that there were lost peoples in our past that did not make it through to our time due to planetary changes in climate and geology. Typically these stories all end around the same era, around 10000-7500 BC, with the same major catastrophic occurence that wiped them out.

The story of Atlantis has been well known since Plato wrote it around 360 BC. It describes a wonderful society of advanced people living on a round island with concentric circles comprising the city itself. Everything was moved, traded and carried by waterways that wove throughout the city. Around the edges of the Atlantic ocean are megalithic underwater ruins that are similar in fashion to Yonaguni, and may have been the work of peoples who were interrelated at some point.
Apparently, Atlantis was lost in a day and a night with a thunderous cascade of fire and smoke from the sky, and earthquakes. Plato's texts describe Atlantis as being made of a material like gleaming bronze, with a circular shape. Was it possible that Atlantis was a visiting spacecraft the size of a city, or did it simply fall victim to a catastrophic earthquake? Simply put, all descriptions are of humans in these stories, gods or not.
At any rate, the events described and written about in our distant past still include predominantly humans or humanoid peoples. A few strange lifeforms or monsters are indicated during this period, but are probably the result of mythology, misinterpretation of events, or even genetic experiments by some advanced peoples.
The technology of the ancients had to have come from past civilizations, and it must have been severely depleted through the various floods, asteroid impacts, and destructive geological activity. Whatever tech was left, however minimal, still linked us to our past human history.
Mankind will have to keep looking in the most deepest places for the information that can solidify the Past Civilization Theory if we are to acheive an answer to the question of past peoples and their technology.
Eventually, through open minded exploration and research, we will most likely find we were not the first advanced human race to ever exist on earth, whether earthly or not.
